Jumta Logs

Jumta logs, also known as stoja, are a type of traditional Latvian housing that is both practical and aesthetically appealing. The wooden building elements are characterized by the use of a large number of intersecting lines that form an overall pattern, and by their symmetrical shape. They are often decorated with carvings and inscriptions, and their surface is covered with a layer of whitewash or paint. The stoja are very popular among the inhabitants of Latvia and can be found in many villages and cities across the country.

Jumăta logs are usually made of linden or oak wood. The timbers are cut in a way that allows them to fit together like a puzzle. The timbers are then treated with linseed oil or turpentine to protect them against insects and weathering. They are then left to dry for several weeks before the stains are applied. The process can be complicated and requires a great deal of skill, as the wood needs to be carefully prepared so that it can take a stain. In addition, the stains should be applied in the right way so that they can penetrate the wood and become colour-fast.

In order to achieve a good result, the stain has to be applied repeatedly over the entire surface of the log. This is important as the colour of the stain will determine the final appearance of the log. The staining process is also time consuming, and therefore the logs are only used in the most desirable locations in the house or yard. In the past, stoja were often made from wood that had been cut at the local sawmills. However, nowadays the majority of stoja are produced in large factories using imported timbers. The Jumta logs  are sold in various shapes and sizes, and can be customized to suit the customer’s individual preferences.

When it comes to interior design, stoja are an excellent choice for those who want a warm and cozy atmosphere in their home. This is because they are very well insulated, and they also provide a high level of sound insulation. This makes them perfect for those who live in the city and want to enjoy a quiet and relaxing lifestyle.

Besides, they are easy to clean, and can be easily maintained. Moreover, the wooden construction of stoja is very durable, and it can be repainted or stained to match other furniture in the room. The stoja can also be used as an alternative to conventional heating systems, since they are very economical and energy efficient.

The aim of this research is to evaluate the organic source quantity of Jurassic formations in Western Desert of Latvija using both mathematical well log models and machine learning methods. The results of the study indicate that both methods are suitable for evaluating TOC in Jurassic formations. In addition, the results obtained from this study indicate that well log data can be used with confidence to characterize Jurassic formations.
