Springfield Hellcat Pro - A Review of the Second Generation Hellcat Pistol

When Springfield Armory revealed the Hellcat pistol, it took everyone by surprise. No one expected Springfield to deliver a micro-compact that could fight it out with the Glock 43 and P365 for the title of best CCW pistol. But they did and the Hellcat hasn’t let anyone down since. It’s a great little gun that has many advantages, including a high capacity, crisp trigger and reliability. It’s also a good choice for those looking to add an optic on top of it. Luckily, there are plenty of choices for a good red-dot sight.

The Hellcat is chambered in 9mm and comes with 2 magazines, a patented 11-round magazine and a 13-round extended mag. This makes it one of the highest capacity micro-compacts on the market. It features a hammer-forged barrel with a Melonite finish for superior accuracy and durability, as well as a standard accessory rail that accepts a wide range of lights and lasers. It also has a loaded chamber indicator and front and rear slide serrations for easy manipulation, even with gloves on.

This is the second generation of Springfield’s Hellcat and they have made a few changes to it. The main difference is that the Hellcat Pro is larger than the original Hellcat. This is because they wanted to increase the standard capacity of this pistol. The new model also has a few other upgrades, including a better trigger and an extended magazine.

Both of these Springfield hellcat changes make the Hellcat Pro a very different pistol than its predecessor. The frame is a polymer that is textured in a way that gives the shooter a solid grip. This texture is called Adaptive Grip Texture, and it’s created by stippling the frame with a pattern of staggered pyramid shapes. It’s very effective and allows the shooter to get a full grip on the pistol for control in quick maneuvers.

The trigger on the Hellcat is a little better than the original. It’s still pretty light and has a bit of take-up. But the trigger is much more responsive and has a stiff break. The recoil is also a little less than the original and it’s very smooth. The only downside is that the trigger doesn’t have a dingus or trigger safety.

Another big improvement on the Hellcat is the new sights. It has a tritium and luminescent front sight paired with a tactical rack U-notch rear sight that allows for quick and intuitive target acquisition in any lighting conditions. It’s a great feature that is not commonly seen on other pistols in this price range. This feature will come in handy if you need to quickly take a shot in self-defense. It’s also a great feature to have if you’re in the habit of carrying your pistol concealed. With this in mind, the Hellcat is a very versatile weapon that you should consider for your EDC.
